Yildirim gets the opportunity to put his last fight behind him, but could face a stiff challenge in Alvarez. Yildirim is a heavy underdog and prone to a good uppercut,
one that was his downfall in his third-round knockout loss to Chris Eubank Jr. in 2017. He is not lacking in confidence and has steadily regained the form that led to a 16-0 start to his career.
Yildirim is 8-2 in his last 10 bouts and will look to avoid being just a speed bump in Alvarez’s way. In the past three years, Yildirim has been formidable with one TKO victory, two unanimous decisions and one major decision win.
Alvarez is known as a hard-hitter and has bludgeoned more than one opponent. He already has another title defense on May 8 against WBO super middleweight champion Billy Joe Saunders.
Alvarez wastes little time getting to the point. In his last fight against Smith, he went on the attack immediately and never relented en route to a unanimous decision victory.
Only Smith’s grit prevented him from being Alvarez’s knockout victim No. 37. Kahn is only sharing his coveted picks here.
